The Third Week

April 5
Leia showed me her beautiful, blue eyes today. It is such a beautiful sight.
And guess what? She's even wearing a shirt! Yay! She's getting better

April 6
We celebrated Brev and Selah's 1st B-day! We had a nice calm birthday party in Leia's room. We did decide that having birthday cake upstairs would be a better option. We are a bit messy and we didn't want Leia to feel sad not eating yummy birthday cake. She loves sweets! I guess it was fitting for the babes to celebrate their first year of life at the hospital. I can't believe it was a year ago that Selah was life flighted to this same hospital.
We were in a similar situation. We were praying, pleading, and asking for miracles. Here we are again, doing the same. We have learned and are still learning how precious and fragile life is. We know that our Father in Heaven has these precious children in His care. It is an honor to care for them and to watch miracles happen before our very own eyes. I sure hope there is not a limit on how many miracles you can receive. We have definitely had our share and we have been blessed more than we deserve.
Leia continues to make progress. Guess what? She smiled! It filled my heart with joy and has made me the happiest mom in the whole world!! She is so beautiful and her life is a gift. She has taught us that beautiful isn't always pretty. Her life will be beautiful. It might not always be pretty but it will be BEAUTIFUL!
We continue to feel love and strength through your prayers. Words can not express our gratitude. Leia loves you!窗体底端

April 8
Today has been amazing! Leia has been admitted into the rehab program! This means that she is medically stable (Hooray!) and they believe she can tolerate 3 hours of therapy a day. The Rehab team also said that she is starting to awaken out of her coma. I thought so.  It's a process. It does not happen like it does in the movies.
She has been smiling and it's beautiful! Another highlight that happened today was in the hall. I was pushing her in her wheelchair and pulling her IVs along. Someone said to me that I sure have my hands full. I get that comment all of the time. I usually say or think in my head, "Yes, thankfully I do." Today, it meant something different to me. How very grateful I am to realize that Leia is still with us and that our hands are full. I have to keep pinching myself. If you think our hands are full, you should see our hearts.
She tracked a light for 5 seconds today! She pushed a ball off of her lap! So many miracles! Please keep hoping and praying for Leia. He hears our prayers and answers them in His time. We are so very grateful for all of you, especially to our Father in Heaven and our Savior. We pray that you will feel loved and blessed.
